Another Reason Twitter is Cool
I was shopping for airline tickets this afternoon. I needed a round trip from Tampa, FL to Phoenix, AZ. I’m going out there for an internet marketing retreat put on by Harris Fellman. It was a bonus offer for people who bought Product Launch Formula 2.0 through him. I was going to get PLF anyway, but I happened to get Harris’s email at launch time. He was streaming on Ustream to people as they considered the deal (good idea, Harris) and, long story short, I’m going to his house in May.
So, I’m shopping for airline tickets. I send out a tweet to that effect. While I’m shopping I have several people reply with their thoughts on where to get the tickets.
Now, that is real-time interaction. Rock on.
Unfortunately, one good idea (Kayak.com) came in just after I booked the tickets on Hotwire. It would have cost the same, but the flight times are better. As it is, I’m leaving Tampa at 6:35AM in the morning. Oh well, at least I’m saving $160 on the trip compared to what I was thinking of doing before.
Next time, I’ll definitely check out Kayak.com first.
