Tampa Bay Blogger Dinner

I have privately griped to Rich (my video guy) how most of the tech conferences seem to happen on the west coast. Being down here in Tampa, Florida sometimes feels a little alienated.

That is starting to change, and I intend to play my role in changing it as well. Just a small indicator of this is that I am attending an informal dinner of Tampa area bloggers on Wednesday night (I’ll snap some photos and video perhaps). The dinner was started by Jeremiah Owyang, an analyst with Forrester Research with emphasis on social computing. He is an uber blogger and social media guy. I caught over Twitter that he was going to be in Tampa on business and was looking to get some other bloggers together.

The link to the event is here. If you’re a Tampa blogger, RSVP. I’m sure it will be very informal and I’d like to meet you.

As far as Tampa bloggers go, I probably have a larger readership than most through PCMech. My audience is not made up of bloggers, but I have a lot of techie types in there. So, I’m thinking of reciprocating and, perhaps in a few weeks, putting together another meeting in the area.

To any PCMech’ers reading this, this is not PCMechCon.

But, the idea is to get some tech enthusiasts and bloggers together and have some food, perhaps a drink, and talk tech.

I will post something a little later when I have come up with a day. If you would like to post a comment or contact me on which day is good, feel free.
