This video is so funny, and so painfully on target.

I sit all day in front of a computer, too, but have been working for several years to incorporate work outs. Running is pretty easy -- no gym membership or special equipment needed -- and I did that for a few years, since I'm too lazy to buy a bike and drive it somewhere safe to ride, or join a pool and go through the icy water green hair ear infection insanity. Recently I started boxing (http://theglowingedge.blogspot.com/2008/07/im-l...), which is my favorite so far. One hour, $30 for gloves, 1000 calories burned. That's what I'm talking about.

Thanks for the call to action, and the laugh along the way.

Besides the two or three hours spent blogging, I spend a lot of time on computers doing other things like repairing them for other folks. A few years ago I noticed that I was not feeling well and gaining weight. Lets face it these computers are addictive to some folks. I started an exercise routine then and have kept it up over the years. Being that I have no health coverage this is a good thing! These days I feel fit: I can jog three miles if I wish to without much effort! I don’t need to go to a gym because my gym is at my home: a free weight bench, a bicycle, and lots of room to jog. I do stretches when I get up and before I go to bed. Over the years I went from a little over 200 to 170lbs! All I can say is to start out very slowly and be consistent! DO NOT OVER DO IT! Be nice to your body.
//bob

Personally I prefer my own fat ass to a beanpole; yet like you I need to lose weight, and I've put it on for pretty much the same reason. I've thought of cheating with liposuction, but exercise is really the key as you say. Needs be as needs must, and less weight = a healthier you = long life - So stay fit so that we can enjoy your blogs longer.
