Flight Over Florida [Video]

This weekend, my wife and I went up to visit my Dad in central Florida. He lives close by the Villages (yeah, you probably remember that corny song from the TV commercials). As you can see from my last post, he lives in an airport community. Well, later that day, we decided to take a quick flight out over the Villages. I took my Flip Video with me so I could share it with you guys:

Almost makes me think of a cool idea for a traveling blogger. If you’re a private pilot with a plane, you could do some really cool video blogging. Especially if you fly quite a bit.

    I like the Flip. It is quick, convenient, and you can see from the videos I make on this site what the quality is like. If looking to buy, though, I would suggest looking at the competition. Flip has good marketing behind it, but there are some other options out there that are pretty good, too. You can even get compacts that can do HD video. But, its hard to beat the size of the Flip.

    Great video. Just a quick question. What do you think of the Flip Video? I'm looking to get one to capture some video of our little one moving around. Is it a good first step before going to a regular standard (HD) video camera? Can you burn to DVD? What's the quality like?

  • David - GREAT idea. I've been wondering if this very thing would look good and work on a blog, and you have shown that it can. Your flip video phone worked great.

    I think what you've done is really cool and it inspires me to incorporate flying and blogging via video.

    BTW: I love airport/residence combinations. Never seen one I didn't like.
