What The Entire World Can Learn From Internet Business People
One of the absolute best things about working with people in the field of Internet business is that we, as a group, are success-minded people. There are some things I notice when I follow or meet in person with people in Internet business:
- They enjoy life.
- They don’t sit there and watch the news very much.
- They don’t have a defeatist attitude about life.
- They’re not worried (too much) about the economy. And, trust me, it isn’t because we’re all loaded. It is because we understand, perhaps more than most, just how much our own personal wealth is in OUR hands. Read my post about why the nine to five job isn’t really that secure.
- We’re not waiting for the government to bail us out.
I could go on. And I’m certainly not saying that only people in internet business have this mindset, or that all people in this business do. I’m simply making an observation among my own circle.
When I look at the news, I see doom and gloom everywhere. It isn’t necessarily because it is everywhere, but because the news amplifies it and creates chaos so they can profit from it. I see more and more people looking to the federal government as their sugar daddy. People vote based on who will give them the most stuff. Now we have companies who, instead of making sound business decisions, are now groveling at the trough of Washington for bailout cash. This is OUR CASH!! These businesses SHOULD DIE. Bailout cash isn’t going to solve anything. Just as natural selection phases out the non-successful species, the same works in the business world.
The dichotomy is stark. On one hand, the news is full of these people groveling about how bad everything is. Begging for handouts. Blaming everybody but themselves. And, in my circle, are people who are self-dependent and have a forward-leaning attitude toward life.
It all reminds me of the book Atlas Shrugged, by Ayn Rand. In this book, the society has moved to a point where you have the producers and then you have the people who justify, in the name of public good, the taking of the wealth from the producers to transfer it to society. In this book, the producers, slowly, start disappearing and they create an alternative society somewhere else. The remainder of society collapses because the forward-leaning people left.
Anybody familiar with this book, is it just me? Am I the only one seeing the parallels here?
I am proud to mingle with forward-leaning, success-minded people. I believe one of the best things you can do for your own success is to have dealings with these kinds of people. And part of that is to phase out the news because, trust me, it isn’t helping anything.
