tubemogul closed my account for uploading an affiliate marketing video.

TWICE.

you CAN NOT USE TUBEMOGUL for affiiliate marketing or MLM.

it says so right in their terms of service,

and they closed my account in 2 days. So good luck using tubemogul for anything to do with affiliate marketing or MLM.

it's useless. they only allow " entertainment videos ONLY "

Interesting post but seems a little biased. TG goes out to3-5 times more sites plus podcast, social bookmarking, blogs, and articles.
Tubemogul doesn't come close to that.
The only sites Tubemogul covers that TG does not in their free version is metacafe and dailymotion.

So for $97 with TG or free with TM, I would shell out the $97 because they dont even compare. Comparing those 2 services is like comparing a Mercedes with all the bells and whistles and a entry level stock BMW with roll-up windows.

One thing you forgot to mention are all the other benefits to tubemogul like analyzation.
Thats a great feature, but you get none of that with the free service.

Compare the paid services.
TMogul paid service is $500 -$1500 per month. What? I contacted them, and I could not believe it when I spoke with them...Now that is highly overpriced

However, Tubemogul only posts to 5 or 6 sites at a time, after that they charge. Any idea what their cost is to get to additional sites?

Interesting take on Video Syndication services. I have been a long-time user of TubeMogul… several years and I have always gotten great results. I still recommend it to small business / sole proprietors who do not produce much content. However… I am also a use of Traffic Geyser because it's kind of like TubeMogul on mega steroids. The one thing I noticed missing from your article was real-world results. Your whole article is simply opinion. Where are the results of having used these services? I use them to grab positions in the search engines. Fact: Traffic Geyser lets me grab more SEO and more TRAFFIC because I get more positions is the search results faster than with TubeMogul… because it does things like Podcast syndication, article syndication, video syndication, status update syndication, etc., etc. that TubeMogul simply isn't built to handle. I haven't looked at their premium service for an apples-to-apples comparison with Traffic Geyser. I'm perfectly comfortable recommending TG simply on the training videos / tutorials alone. I have built a successful business based on the 10×10x4 tutorial video. The syndication tools help me deliver faster and better than the free services can offer.

Great post! I'll have to weigh the options of using a paid service over a free service. More often than not, a free service that is close to a paid service is far better. I've heard of Traffic Geyser and will give the free trial a shot, however, because I'm always open to new Ideas.

Fantastic discussion you are having here! I have used TG and I think you are being a tad unfair, and inaccurate, in your post. TG goes out to a lot more sites that you list. Now, it might be a bit of overkill, but they have a huge distribution network. TG also has a lot of video training and tools to help you make videos. I never once have had any of the upload problems some other commentors experienced.
Now, having said all that, TG is expensive and may be more than lots of people need. Tube Mogul is excellent too and much better if you are on a budget of course. You can do a lot with either tool. TG offers a lot that Tube Mogul does not and if you want to blast out a TON of videos, then TM is no longer free! So some of your comparisons and statements against TG are misleading.

Amen! Brother: You couldn't have described Traffic Geyser more accurately. I paid them $97 a month for over a year…and only 4 sources ever showed up as generating any views for me: Google, Yahoo, MSN and Bing. All of those others existed only in Traffic Geyser sales pitch (as far as generating any responses). And “3,500 video uploads per month”. Who the hell would ever create (let alone want to) 3,500 videos to upload? I finally figured that I can upload to those four big ones myself. Why pay TG that kind of money!

Speaking of paying them…. I should have realized right in the beginning the kind of people I'm dealing with: I signed up for their free trial right when they first came on the scene, but I didn't have my web site finished yet or a video ready to upload to them. When I did, I got a notice that my free trial had expired and I would have to become a full $97 a month customer if I wanted them to process the video I was trying to upload!

When I finally decided to dump them, I sent a polite conciliatory email suggesting that they might want to re-consider their fee and the “3,500 uploads” since both are beyond reality for most folks. I got back a response: “Sorry things haven't worked out for you. Guess it's best that you move on.” My conclusion about Traffic Geyser? A hell of lot of hype and BS, and as you say… lot's of “guru's” on their bandwagon all cross-promoting each other. TubeMogul…here I come. Thanks for sharing your insight.
