Blogger Damage Control…

Today, I want to do a little bit of damage control.

No, not because I screwed up or anything. It’s something else…

See, this whole “make money blogging” thing has a lot of myths. People believe in these myths, and then they let them become huge limitations that lead to failure and keep you broke.

No doubt, a big part of this is due to some bullcrap internet marketers who keep trying to sell “easy buttons” to people, thereby propagating this myth that all of this can be done in no time at all, without lifting a finger. Anybody with common sense knows that isn’t true, yet it doesn’t keep people from looking, or marketers from taking advantage of it (and, often, creating it).

At the same time, you have a lot of bloggers who think they have to do the same things, in the same ways, as other successful bloggers. So, you see somebody posting on a daily basis, and you think YOU have to post on a daily basis. That just happens to be NOT TRUE.

So, I want to tackle these myths head on today. Because they get in the way. They’re useless. They’re excuses not to take action.

Blogger Myths That Keep You BROKE

    Hi David,
I wrote an article on something similar to this recently. I have to say, that when I started out, I knew that anything “get rich quick” is a con – unless you win the lottery. One thing I under-estimated was the work level required to go places, and that pure blogging won’t make you much money.

Anyway, I’d signed up for your original ebook, and have signed up again for this updated copy. I look forward to reading through these!
    Cheers,
    Mark

David, you are exactly correct and this is something I am working on keeping at the forefront of my mind. I need to look at others for inspiration and ideas, then I need to make it my own. Create a plan based off of who I am as a person. Keep up the good work man and have a prosperous 2011!

    Great idea David!

I think sometimes showing people what NOT to do or in this case WHY its NOT working is ten times more powerful than actually showing them.

Been too long between visits – thanks for sharing the report David

Look forward to your thoughts on it. :-) And, yes, blogging alone is a pretty crappy way to make money. Gotta have a backend on it.

I am still smiling at the “blogger hamster wheel” marketing – very cute.
