4 Ways To Bring In A Cash Influx In The Next Week

One of the coolest things about internet business is the flexibility.

When you have a regular job, you pretty much get paid the same no matter what the heck you do. Your best bet is to make the boss happy and hope for a raise. When you’re an internet entrepreneur, it is really up to you whether you sink or swim. With that kind of flexibilty and responsibility comes the power to give yourself a pay raise whenever you want one.

So, what could you do if you want a quick influx of cash?

The answer is brain-dead simple: MAKE AN OFFER. AND PROMOTE IT.

Let’s spell out a few more specific ideas:

  1. If you have an existing product, run a time-limited special promotional discount. If you’ve been in the marketing space much, you might know about Frank Kern’s “4 Day Cash Machine”. It is an awesome stroke of branding on Frank’s part, but really, all it is is offering a discount, piling on a bunch of bonuses, and putting the entire thing on a scarcity basis (by limiting it to 4 days). However you want to play it, just create a killer, no-brainer offer and pitch it to your audience.
  2. Pick a great affiliate product and promote it. Again, simple stuff. And a great way to get the benefits of a marketing campaign if you don’t have a product of your own yet. Just find a product which is great for your audience (maybe one you use) that has an affiliate program, and market it. Spice up the offer on a time-limited basis by adding your own bonus(es) to it (if they order through you) and give it a deadline.
  3. Offer consulting. This is another way to create a “product” when you don’t have one. If you have an audience who perceives you as an authority in whatever you write about, then considering a consulting offer and sell it. It can double-up as a market research exercise, too, because you’ll have them on the phone and you can ask them questions about what they want more of from you.
  4. Launch a new product. You know, making things to sell isn’t as big a deal as people make it out to be. Ditch all those self-doubts and perfectionist excuses, and just sit down and MAKE SOMETHING. In fact, you don’t even have to have made it yet to offer it. Pre-sell it (awesome for live events like webinars).

No matter what you do, it comes down to the basics: Make an offer, and promote it.

So, what if your list isn’t that big? Yeah. Promote it anyway. You’ll never get anywhere by acting small.

My grandfather once said, “The only sure way to never catch a fish is to never have your hook in the water”.

Wise man.

Stay tuned to your email next week, as I’m going to be announcing something you might want to partake in. It will be particularly geared to those of you with small email lists. :)

I’ve been putting up “billboards.” After months and months of no traction, a couple of weeks ago someone shows up waving cash. Then yesterday, I get two inquiries, one of which probably going to convert. (The other decided it was overkill for his needs.)

Time to put out more “billboards.”

Very good David and highly doable. Of course the real challenge is how to bring in the bucks overnight. Any up to date or revolutionary ideas???

I am already offering consulting, but no takers yet. I want to create an audio program that I can sell on my website.

  • Blogshop Santa Fe

I am consulting now but don’t promote it on my site in a big way yet. Time to fish!

Thanks David – so obvious and yet so simple ;)

Don’t worry about “overnight”. Just mounts up artificial pressure. :-)

@Dave Doolin Your website is a shock of color! A real turn-off :-( Kind of kills the value of your brand! Hire a real designer

If you are looking for ways to make money “overnight” give up now. Anything that is truly worthwhile take time to build. You need a platform from which to promote products. Spend time building your platform and then yes you can make money overnight. Ever heard the expression “An overnight success story, ten years in the making”? You put in tons of work up front, and then the repeated success seems easy, but you have to have that foundation first.

Thanks David. Your post just gave me an idea. I currently have a pretty big list due to a free product on one of my niche sites. The sales for the full product have been sluggish at best. There are a few other sites that offer similar products that I’m an affiliate for. It’s kind of backwards since I have a product to promote, but I think my competitors have better sales skills that I have right now. Think I’ll send out an affiliate broadcast to the my list and see what happens. And besides that, my commission on the affiliate is more than what I’d receive for my product.

  • http://davidrisley.com David Risley

    Sounds reasonable. :-)

Curious, if your product is on par with their’s, and the commission is greater than the price of your product… why don’t you just raise your price? just a guess…. but maybe people are writing your’s off because of the lower price… they perceive it as a inferior product.

Saying this having no idea what you sell, of course. :-)

Thanks for the suggestion. My four main competitors sell their products for $20-$25. I sell mine for $10 (listed on the site as $17 with a $7 discount code). I think I’ll just eliminate the coupon code and make the price $17 and see how it goes.

I never thought about offering consulting before just as a stand-alone service. Great idea.

    Gr8 article David..

I prefer the 2nd ideas….Because its something that you can do even if you have nothing at all – no list or no product of your own! Just start from ground zero….
    Always love your content!
