Lessons From Billy Mays About Blog Monetization
Billy Mays was a TV marketing powerhouse. Like many, when I saw Billy Mays on TV, I got a little chuckle at how “over the top” he was. When the show Pitchmen came out, I got a new respect for the hard work and thought which goes into those commercials. And when I got news that Billy Mays had passed away, I was sad.
In looking back, however, there are lessons to be learned from Billy Mays. Lessons that anybody interested in marketing should pay attention to.

Should You Pursue Problogging?
It is a fair question. A lot of people read about the success of some bloggers (perhaps like myself) and want that for themselves. That is a noble endeavor, and a worthy one.
However, is blogging the right business for you?

Lessons From Blog Masters Club Launch
The first launch of Blog Masters Club went pretty well. It was quite a bit of work, and it is quite nice to have the dust settled and be able to just work on content and helping my new students.
All product launches are learning experiences, though. This one was no exception. And, since this blog is “confessions” of a six figure blogger, I thought it fitting to say what went right and what went wrong.

The Evolution of Blogging
This is a guest post written by Nathan Hangen, from Webrepreneur Blog.
There’s been a lot of talk lately about blogging as a dead medium. Although I suspect that a majority of this talk spews out of the dying media outlets…probably as a last gasp effort to destroy the bane of their existence, there is some truth to it.
The thing is, it isn’t the money making blogs that are dying. The blogs taking a hit these days are the hobby blogs that once flowered the internet landscape trying to share random bits of thought and experience. Years ago, if a hobby blog caught the eye of enough people, it had the potential to turn into a six-figure earner for the lucky blogger. If it didn’t, the blogger kept going because they enjoyed seeing their words online.
Now, thanks to Twitter and Facebook, these blogs are slowly falling by the wayside at a record pace. The motivation of seeing your posts online simply isn’t enough for most amateur bloggers. Click Here To Continue Reading »
I Follow Pornstars On Twitter? [Stop Auto-Follow]
We all know that Twitter is an awesome social networking platform. The one-to-many communication, the ease of tweeting from anywhere – it is cool and the growth rate proves it.
However, that growth rate has been so high that there are negative side effects. Spam, for one. But, when you couple the tweet spam with the ego-centric need to have high follower counts, Twitter itself starts to lose it’s usefulness.
For this reason, I have completely done a reverse course on my approach to Twitter.

Would You Like Me To Coach You?
The launch of the Blog Masters Club has been both exciting and adventurous. I will have tales from the battlefield to tell once the launch is over.
That said, it has been going pretty well. A number of great, motivated people have chosen to work directly with me over the coming months to take their blogs to the next level.
With everything I have posted here on my blog, or even with the 3DayMoney program, I have never before done a complete “brain dump” of everything I have learned through the last 8 years of blogging full-time. Not only that, my Blog Masters students will be able to get personal help from me, specific to their blog and situation.

My Evolution Into a Six Figure Blogger
Before I go on, if you want me to be your personal blogging coach, so you can work with me to realize the income potential of your blogging efforts, you have until this coming Tuesday to decide to join us.

The club forums are already alive with activity. New members are taking the Blog Masters pledge (which I think you’ll find a bit humorous, actually).
I have talked, before, of how I have been blogging for a living for the last many years.
And, I was doing it under the radar. I’ve been at this longer than most of the other "gurus" in this space. I don’t know what took me so long to start talking about it, but it wasn’t until last year that I actually went public as a pro blogger.
In high school, I was a complete loner. In fact, I was really uncomfortable with people.
I started college with the idea of going into engineering. Why? Because my Dad is an engineer. I literally had NO idea what I wanted to do with myself.
I started working at Sam’s Club as a college job. I also served a stint at Citibank, in their IT division as a college co-op.
One thing was made VERY clear to me…
