Getting Started With Making Money Blogging

If you want to form a REAL online business, make money online, avoid the hype and pitfalls, you're in the right place. I have been in online business for over 13 years. I was a technology blogger for over a decade before I ever started talking about online business. I started this blog in order help others do it, too. Because working a 9-to-5, stuck in a cubicle with somebody else telling you where to report and when... no frickin' thanks. That's no way to live.

My promise to you is this... I will pull no punches. I am a straight shooter. I'll give you information you can use based on how I see things.

STEP #2 - Get Your Mind Straight

Before you delve into my stuff further, I think it is appropriate to set proper expectations for you upfront. We live in a world of hype, and this "make money online" market is particularly rife with it. All kinds of "Get rich quick" schemes can be found... all of it fueled by the lust of making money without doing much work.

So, let's get a few things straight:

Creating a full-time income as a blogger is not easy and takes a lot of work. There is NOTHING easy about making money online. There is no easy button. The rules of business online are the same as they are offline, essentially. We're just on a different medium. So, unless you think you could run right out and start an offline business overnight and make money right away... you probably shouldn't be thinking you can do it online.

It doesn't happen quickly. It took me a few years to be generating a full-time income online. I was lucky in the sense that I started in college and never had to look for a "real job" by the time I graduated. But, nothing about it happened overnight. You CAN get rich quick online, but "quick" is relative. Relative to having to slave for 40 years in order to retire at 65 and enjoy yourself, you can get rich "quick" online. It can take a few years, but it can happen a hell of a lot faster when you're running the show.

Nothing is "paint by numbers". What I mean is that there is no "system" out there you can buy where you just blindly follow the steps and out pops a six-figure income stream. It just doesn't exist. Expect to have to think for yourself. Expect to do your own research. Learn from those who came before you, but don't expect them to magically guide you to a pot of gold without you, too, having to do the work and make some mistakes along the way.

Action is EVERYTHING. Reading blogs all day isn't going to get you anywhere. Buying and reading info products isn't going to get you anywhere. The only thing that does it is taking routine, effective action. Don't just learn, DO.

It starts with YOU. Entrepreneurship, whether online or offline, starts with a mindset. It is a mindset of independence, of personal responsibility, and willingness to make decisions. You cannot be paralyzed at the idea of failure and make it. You cannot be worried about what every single person in the world thinks of you and make it. You cannot fail to make decisions and make it. Not everybody CAN make money online... but it isn't because it is impossible to do. It is only because those people have certain self-imposed limitations on their own mindset which keep them from succeeding. Shed that and you'll be off to the races.
